Edinburgh PACT:
Collectively Winning Contracts

The Edinburgh PACT (Procurement and Consortia Tendering) project aims to increase third sector organisation’s knowledge and understanding of the tendering process and to develop and support their bids for public sector contracts. Following the successful pilot the Scottish Government has agreed to extend this project for a further two years.

The Edinburgh PACT aims to open up procurement and to skill up third sector organisations in the capital allowing them to bid for and win contracts. One of the perceived barriers to the third sector successfully bidding for contracts is scale and capacity. PACT aims to counter this and other issues by moving organisations closer to being able to develop consortia bids through a brokerage service.

As part of the Edinburgh PACT we will be offering Fitness to Tender a programme of workshops aimed at organisations with little or no experience in tendering. The workshops are completely free and will introduce participants to the tendering process and will cover:

  • The tender process
  • Preparation: are you ready to tender?
  • Proving and Improving: SROI and social accounting
  • Procurement: winning the contract
  • Consortia: working with others

The Edinburgh PACT project will be delivered by Forth Sector Development, the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce and the Edinburgh Social Enterprise Network
